ABOUT PENTACLE:
Since 1976, Pentacle has been a model in the arts administration field, enabling performing artists to focus on what they do best—create art and engage with audiences!
Pentacle’s artists are consistently awarded top recognition in the field with honors including 9 MacArthur winners, 25 Doris Duke Artists, 10 Herb Alpert Awardees, and 68 Guggenheim Fellows to date. Pentacle’s fiscal sponsorship programs enable artists to expand their activities, enabling artists and projects to garner $4M dollars in institutional support!
With an unwavering dedication to provide artists with individualized, administrative support and tools to build their infrastructure, Pentacle’s hands-on programs and services directly serve 300+ companies and project-based artistic entities. Pentacle provides employment to 1,500+ artists, work to 750+ independent contractors, serves 350 youth through Education & Outreach programs, and attracts 1,300+ audience members to performances and showcases!
SPRING 2023 ARTS ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP:
Pentacle’s College and Post-Graduate Internship Program seeks college students, postgraduates, or individuals aged 18+ who are passionate about the arts and interested in expanding their knowledge of the nonprofit arts field! Selected interns will:
- Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit arts business practices
- Attend weekly professional development seminars led by arts leaders in the field & Pentacle staff members
- Get matched with artistic entities according to your mutually-defined goals & previous experience!
SESSION DATES: January 30th-April 24th, 2023 | DEADLINE TO APPLY: November 13th, 2022
TIME COMMITMENT:
- Interns must be available to work for their artistic entities 10 hours/ week for 8 weeks
- Attend one 2-hour evening seminar each week
- Outside work to prepare for seminars totaling 1-hour per week may be required
IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Weekly seminars will be held in-person at the Pentacle office
- Excluding weekly seminars, internship hours can be completed virtually and/or in-person
- Interns may be matched with artistic entities within & outside of NYC!
COMPENSATION:
- $1,000 stipend
- College credit may be arranged

INTERNSHIP MATCHING PROGRAM FOR COMPANIES
Are you in need of a self-motivated and passionate intern? Pentacle’s College and Post-Graduate Internship Program seeks individual artists and artistic entities who are interested in expanding their administrative capacity.
SESSION DATES: January 30th-April 24th, 2023 | DEADLINE TO APPLY: November 13th, 2022
Interns are matched with artistic entities according to their mutually-defined goals and previous experience. We are currently accepting artistic entities within and outside of NYC. Participating artistic entities will receive:
- Qualified intern recruitment & placement
- Clear work plan outlining intern responsibilities
- 10 hours/week for 8 weeks to work with their intern
- Mentorship and guidance from Pentacle staff
- Remote OR In-person hours
