Since July, Pentacle has partnered with Dance/NYC to offer Financial Care to 30+ artist recipients of the Dance Advancement Fund. Pentacle’s support includes individual financial assessments and direct fiscal administrative support to each artist in the areas of need that they identify.

Pentacle’s partnership with Dance/NYC grew out of our long relationship with the NYC dance service organization, and years of collaborating on programs for the dance community, such as curating the SMART bar at Dance/NYC’s Annual Forum, and various field-wide initiatives.

The Financial Care services that Pentacle provides to Dance/NYC’s Dance Advancement Fund awardees is a reboot of Pentacle’s Financial Urgent Care, a program that started in 2019 and expanded in 2020 to respond to the prevalent financial needs of artists during the COVID shutdown. In this new iteration of that program, Pentacle is providing the Dance Advancement Fund artists with a combination of expert financial guidance and hands-on administrative support to help them gain a greater understanding of, and mastery over, their finances. The hope is that it will build artists’ resilience during times of economic hardship and give them a solid plan for growth and stability when conditions are favorable.

So far, we have begun working with some of the Dance Advancement Fund artists and look forward to continuing our work with them throughout 2023.
